Doug Ford has increased the scope of the COVID 19 lockdowns this past weekend, effective Saturday. Here is an outline of what that means for all of Ontario.
The stay-at-home order is now in effect until at least May 20, 2021. Police will have the authority to stop and question anybody in public. Where they are going, why they are traveling and where they live are all permitted questions to be demanded by officers. Checkpoints at the provincial borders will limit travel between Ontario and the other provinces. Travelers entering Ontario who are coming for work, medical care, transportation of goods, and exercising indigenous treaty rights will be exempted.
Big box stores will be down to 25% capacity and can be open no earlier than 7am and no later than 8pm. By-law officers will attempt to enforce these measures by visiting over 500 workplaces this weekend in the hotspot areas of Ottawa, Toronto, and York Region. This includes food processors, manufacturers, warehouses, and big box stores. Places of worship will be limited to 10 people maximum. Drive-in services at places of worship will be allowed.
All non-essential construction must stop immediately, including at shopping malls, hotels, and office towers. The province will launch a province-wide inspection campaign of construction sites by dispatching 200 workplace inspectors and OPP to visit 1300 construction sites to enforce the China Virus safety measures.
The worst measures by far: outdoor gatherings and organized public events will be prohibited, except for members of the same household. ALL outdoor recreations will be closed. This includes, but is not limited to, golf courses, basketball courts, and playgrounds.
These measures are far reaching and are seriously removing people’s ability to choose what they want to do with their lives. They are truly draconian. This should never occur in any free country. COVID is not killing our citizens at the rate the fake mainstream media wants us to think. We cannot be okay with these measures. We have rights and those must be exercised. Regardless of what Prime Minister Trudeau and Premier Ford promise, vaccination will not end the lockdowns.
Go see your family, go outside, and go to a park. Kids must interact with other kids. Give your brother or your sister a hug. Smile without a mask. Drive to a nice area and enjoy Canada’s beautiful nature with some friends. Play a sport or game with others. Do what you want, when you want. Never forget that freedom is always essential. We cannot forget how the men who built this country had lived. Be brave and fight for your freedom.
